X3DH-style + ML-KEM-768 Hybrid P2P
Maximum Security mode combines authenticated X3DH-style session setup with ML-KEM-768 hybrid key agreement and per-message symmetric ratcheting for short-lived browser-to-browser transfers.
Async Standard Mode
Send a secret without waiting for the recipient. They open it anytime within 15 minutes up to 30 days — encrypted with AES-256-GCM, key never leaves the URL fragment.
One-Time Viewing
Each Standard-mode link is single-use. After the first successful access, its server record is deleted before response; the ciphertext object is removed shortly after on a best-effort basis, with lifecycle deletion as a backstop.
Zero-Knowledge Architecture
During normal Standard-mode operation, the secret endpoint does not receive the URL-fragment decryption key. Cryptographic operations run in the browser. For P2P sessions, compare the safety number with your recipient over an independent channel.
EU Operation & Privacy Controls
Operated from Romania, EU, with core account infrastructure in AWS eu-central-1, consent-gated analytics, and account export/deletion controls. These support privacy obligations but are not a blanket legal-compliance determination.

Team Split — Shamir's Secret Sharing
Split a secret into N shares with a k-of-n threshold: any 2-of-3 or 3-of-5 holders can reconstruct it, but no single holder can access it alone. 100% client-side, with share material kept out of server storage.
How Secretus Works

Type your secret and choose an expiry — 15 minutes up to 30 days, or a custom date. AES-256-GCM encryption key is generated randomly in your browser.
Share the Link
A unique link is generated with the encryption key hidden in the #fragment — invisible to our server. Copy it or share via QR code.
Recipient Opens Anytime
The recipient clicks the link whenever they're ready — no scheduling needed. The secret is decrypted locally in their browser.
Link Expires
After the first successful view, the link is invalidated immediately and ciphertext cleanup follows shortly after. During normal operation, the key remains in the URL fragment and is omitted from the secret endpoint request.
